AI data center infrastructure on sites with existing power assets

Matapas Infrastructure develops AI and HPC capacity where power and interconnection already exist — so projects reach energization in months, not years.

Thesis

Compute demand moved faster than the grid.

New data centers wait years for power. AI demand is growing faster than the grid can add connections. In major markets, a new site can wait longer for its grid connection than the chips it will house stay current.

Energized capacity is hiding in plain sight. Industrial sites across the country already have power contracts, substations, and cooling built for dense computing. And in regions heavy with solar and wind, surplus power is thrown away every day because the grid can't absorb it.

We develop across both. Matapas Infrastructure finds these sites, brings together the builder, the operator, and the capital, and structures the deal that turns existing power into AI capacity.

Energized industrial sites

Grid-connected facilities with transferable utility power contracts and existing electrical infrastructure — repositioned for AI/HPC use.

  • Utility power agreements at competitive industrial rates
  • Development-ready in months, not years
Grid-connected or on-site with the generator

Cheap surplus power + batteries

In regions with heavy solar or wind, power is nearly free during surplus hours and expensive the rest of the day — and more of that surplus is wasted every year. We develop data centers paired with large batteries that charge when power is cheap and run the facility when it isn't.

  • Batteries sized to each site's daily cheap-power window
  • Sited on the grid directly, or next to the power plant itself

We develop each project from origination through structuring — securing the site, assembling the partnership, and staying invested through delivery.
